Meals on wheels

Providing much more than just a meal

For over 65years Meals on Wheels has played a crucial role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our older clients across North East Dublin.
At the core of the Meals on Wheels service is a nutritious meal, companionship and a watchful eye on the health and safety of our older generation and those with disabilities. For those who have trouble getting around, we bring the service to you. For those who can still venture out into their communities, we serve in gathering places, such as our senior centres and community kitchen facilities.

While the diversity of our services and operations may vary based on the needs and resources of our clients, we are committed to supporting our clients to live healthier and more nourished lives in their own homes. In particular, there is an opportunity to use food provision to link isolated adults to other services and avert escalating health and social care costs through early intervention. Conexus essential service plays an important role in early intervention and health prevention, allowing older and vulnerable people to live in their homes for longer. We do this through our incredible staff and 140 volunteer workforce who form meaningful connections with Meals onWheels clients, enabling them to live independently and age well and provide valuable peace-of-mind to their loved ones.

Conexus shared purpose is to support well-nourished, independent and connected communities through the delivery of a nutritious meal, social connection and a wellbeing check by our dedicated staff and volunteer workforce. That’s why the human connection delivered by meals on wheels is essential.

We can make a real difference to the lives of Meals onWheels clients by empowering independence and confidence through ensuring all nutritional needs are met daily.
